Haile Salassie whose original name was Tafari Makonnen was born on July 23rd 1892 near Harer in Ethiopia. He died on August 27th 1975. Haile Salassie was Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974 and Rose to become Regent Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia. He was a great figure in Modern Ethiopia history.
