Even if I answer in the affirmative, it will make no sense to a person who has not tried using the power of visualization for self development or to achieve something in their lives.
You have to have tried and experienced the power of visualization to accept its workings.
Visualization is the art of creating images in your imagination of what you desire to see happen in your life. It’s putting yourself in the state you want fulfilled.
For example, if you desire to own a Ford Explorer SUV, picture yourself already owning and driving it with the admiration of friends and family. Feel the feeling of ownership as if it is already in your possession.
I have several stories to tell in my life about how I use the visualization techniques to solve several problems at different times in my life.
A case in point was when I had an important interview to attend in Lagos, Nigeria, but didn’t have the money to embark on the journey. Warri, Delta state, Nigeria where I lived was about 400 km from Lagos. However, since I had been unemployed for a long time I didn’t have the money to make the trip. This is where I had to try a visualization technique. Everyday I imagined and pictured myself taking the interview in Lagos, Nigeria. Talking to the people in the office and exchanging pleasantries with fellow interviewees. I did this everyday, morning and evening for two weeks. However, as the day drew near to travel nothing significant had happened as there was no accidental money or anything that would aid me to embark on the journey. On the day I was to leave I still had no money, but I had a strong nudge to carry my bag and leave, and so I obeyed by carrying my bag and setting out on the journey. Walking on the highway with no money on me but just my trust in the universe that something would happen. After almost giving up hope, the miracle I seek happened. A lone driver in an SUV hooting his horn incessantly came to stop inches besides me and asked if I was going to Lagos. Of course I was. The driver who came to Warri for a meeting had been praying for God to send a companion on the long journey when he saw me. To cut an already long story short, he gave me a good sum of money when I disembarked in appreciation for being a good companion to him.

This experience was one of my highlights on the use of the power of visualization. So does power of visualization work? For me I will say a resounding yes, because I have experience with it under my belt.

Additionally, visualization alone is not a substitute for action and effort. Remember in my story I had to leave my house to get the help I needed. It is most effective when combined with deliberate practice and real-world action towards one’s goals.
